PVC pipe, teamwork leads to rescue of local family's dog

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Jefferson County deputies helped rescue a family's dog on Thursday after it got stuck inside a culvert.

According to the sheriff's office, Vinnie, the dog of Bill and Susan Gass, got stuck 20 feet inside a culvert near Indian Creek Road on Thursday.

Deputies Randy Mumbard, Eddie Freeman and officer Steve Norton went out to the area to see what they could do. Deputy Freeman was able to snag Vinnie's collar with a PVC pipe and helped him out.
