KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Former Tennessee Quarterback and Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Josh Dobbs made a stop back to Knoxville to host his youth football camp at Sansom Sports Complex.
"When you show up and see the lines of kids and families supporting you, it's humbling just to see the impact you left on your time here," said Josh Dobbs.
Hundreds of kids, like David Evans, took pointers from the NFL player.
"It's really an honor for me to be here with Josh Dobbs, an NFL quarterback that knows what he is doing and teaching me NFL strategies," said Davis Evans, who was attending Dobbs' camp. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than here right now.
David traveled from Cincinnati.
"A lot of kids back in Northern Kentucky my home town, don't get to do this, but here I am learning from himself, Josh Dobbs, it's amazing," said Evans.
David's mom, Tiffany, is from Pittsburgh and went to the University of Tennessee. Now, the family lives in Cincinnati. She said she had to make the trip just so her son could play with Josh.
"Josh Dobbs is an amazing role model," said Tiffany Evans. "Getting his degree in aerospace engineering and playing in the NFL is amazing. It shows what hard work can really do for you."
Dobbs spent his afternoon leading different drills.
"Definitely going to teach them some skills some fundamentals, some tid bits, they came take with them to grow their game," said Dobbs. "The biggest thing I want them to take away is every time you step on the field, you should enjoy what you're doing."
