Make a quality product with a strong attention to detail and be friendly. With that in mind, each item is handcrafted by me in my Oak Ridge studio with love and care. Sure, it takes longer this way, but quality and character are the ideals, not mass-production. I suppose I'm old-fashioned that way. I just truly believe there is something to be said for knowing exactly where something was made, and by whom.
Following an epic solo bicycle trip that took me 4,000 miles across the United States, I moved to Nashville in the winter of 2009, intent upon learning the craft of making clothing, and took a job at a local tuxedo shop. That June I was asked by a coworker (and daughter of the owner) to make neckties for her father and brother for Father's Day. I had never made a tie before, but I gladly took the commission. The ties were a success, and within a couple months I was receiving commissions to make custom neckties for weddings. Soon, word continued to spread, and in the spring of 2010 I filed for a business license, secured a wholesale account, and began my own line of handcrafted neckties. Within a year, I added a few more wholesale accounts, built an online store, quit my job, and jumped into this business full-time.
1. What is Selvedge denim and how do I care for and wash Selvedge Denim?
Selvedge denim is loomstate denim. With qualities entirely unique to itself and the construction process. Allowing it to fade and whisker custom to each individual wearer. The way denim has been made for 150 years. It has never been washed and therefore will potentially bleed a bit of indigo depending on how dark the indigo is. At Felding Co we recommend soaking your jeans in cold water to loosen any excess indigo and also take out the minimal amount of shrinkage which may occur before you hem them.
We also recommend washing them only on cold and never ever dry them. Only hang dry them. Also only wash when it is absolutely necessary, because this actually decreases the desired fading and whiskering you will get from wearing them over time. The custom and unique look everyone desires from selvedge denim will thus be diminished. If you wear them and take care of them they will last for a long time.

We are offer free ground shipping on orders over $200.00 and we offer flat rate ground shipping of $12.50 for any order less than $200.00. We do not ship internationally at this time. We make every effort to ship all orders within 48 hours from when the order was placed.
6. What is your return/exchange policy?
Our online policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can't offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

7. What is that process?
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. Late or missing refunds (if applicable) If you haven't received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you've done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at email@example.com.
Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded, but may exchanged excluding the following: sale items equal to or above 30% are Final Sale.
Exchanges (if applicable)

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you'll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn't marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return. Above policies still apply.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don't guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
