$10M in road damage funds for Tennessee

(WVLT) -- The U.S. Department of Transportation announced $10 million dollars in funds would be available to Tennessee for emergency repairs to flood-damaged roads.

Tennessee has experienced heavy rain and flooding since late February.

“These emergency relief funds will help Tennessee expedite the repair process and restore access to roads as quickly as possible,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao.

The "quick release" funding will be used to pay for repairs done to restore essential traffic and prevent additional damage at locations hurt by flooding and mudslides.
