East Tenn. toddler shot in head moving to Georgia for treatment

MOUNTAIN CITY, Tenn. (WJHL)-- A 2-year-old Johnson County girl shot in the head by a pellet gun in March has moved to the next step in treatment, according to CBS affliiate WJHL.

Ariel Salaices has remained in the East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Knoxville since the incident happened.

The child's mother announced in a Facebook post that Ariel will be moved to a hospital in Georgia for treatment Thursday.

Investigators had initially stated that Ariel was shot by a stray bullet, but later determined she was struck by a pellet gun.
