24 people charged in Jefferson County after 3 kilos of meth found

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A multi-agency investigation led to the discovery of three kilograms of methamphetamine and charges for 24 individuals, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

According to a release from the JCSO, three kilograms of methamphetamine was seized on Oct. 30 following an investigation led by the Criminal Investigation and Correctional Division with assistance from the 5th Judicial Drug Task Force, the FBI, ATF, DEA and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Following the seizure, 24 people were arrested and now face charges.

The sheriff's office said that a federal investigation is ongoing, and further charges are pending.
