KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Home Federal Bank is giving back to the community by building the 29th Habitat for Humanity home. This is all part of their 95th Anniversary celebration for Home Federal Bank, and they invited friends, families, and customers to be a part of their milestone year.

"We're working a little bit in the rain, but everyone is having a good time," Chris Rohwer, with Home Federal Bank of Tennessee, said. "This is the 29th Habitat Home that Home Federal has built. We are the longest standing covenant partner with Habitat. It's a project we take on every year to help a family."

Bank employees and customers joined Knoxville Habitat to build Home Federal Bank's 29th sponsored Habitat home in Knoxville.

"This is just one way that we're able to contribute to the community. It builds teamwork. We have people from all over our offices and branches that come together and it's a day to work together," Rohwer said.

Soon-to-be homeowner Manjay Kenneh has successfully raised five children. She comes from the African country of Liberia, where the war in the area forced Kenneh and her family to flee from one country to the next.

"It helps build friendship and teamwork and it's just a good project to help the community, and we enjoy doing it," Rohwer said.
