Man arrested following armed robbery in Hamblen Co.

HAMBLEN COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Sheriff's deputies in Hamblen County arrested a man they believe robbed three people over the past week.

On September 23, police said Michael Hipshire robbed two people at gunpoint on Mae Collins Road. They said Hipshire also robbed a woman on October 3 in front of the Whitesburg Market.

The victim said, when she refused to give Hipshire any money, he hit her in the lip and on the head with a pistol.

Deputies arrested Hipshire Thursday along with two women on outstanding warrants.
