1. KPD: Suspect in statutory rape case pleads guilty

A 35-year-old man was charged with solicitation of a minor-statutory rape and simple possession of schedule IV in 2016.

2. Police, organizers say safety comes first at this weekend's gun show

Since a Florida school shooting on February 14 left 17 people dead, gun control conversations have taken a national -- and local -- stage.

In Knoxville this weekend, the Gun-O-Rama gun show was scheduled to be put on by RK Shows, Inc., where vendors are required to conduct background checks.

3. Two Johnson City women indicted, charged in fentanyl-laced overdose death

Two Johnson City women face charges in connection to an overdose death after an investigation by special agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Drug investigators working for the TBI along with the Johnson City Police Department started investigating the drug overdose death of a Washington County man in November.

4. Anderson Co. leaders admonish and censure circuit court clerk in harassment case

Anderson County's Board of Commissioners has taken a stand against alleged sexual harassment involving a county clerk. In documents dated February 20, 2018, the board passed a "Resolution to Admonish and Censure William T. Jones, Anderson County Circuit Court Clerk."

Documents included in the public record include graphic details of alleged texting between Jones and female employees or interns.

5. Suspect in custody in shooting deaths of parents on college campus

A 19-year-old student has been arrested after more than 100 police officers, some heavily armed in camouflage uniforms, searched neighborhoods near Central Michigan University.

This happened early Friday morning. The 19-year-old was suspected of killing his parents at a dormitory and then running from campus.
