Tennessee man survives failed human sacrifice attempt

(WVLT) -- On the day after Christmas in 2017, police say that Jose Raul Mendez, a Clarksville resident, was stabbed and narrowly escaped being killed after a man, later identified as Bernardino Rodriguez Molina, told him "you are about to die" and that "he was going to sacrifice him to Santa Muerte, the saint of death."

This week, police in Virginia arrested and charged Molina with attempted first-degree murder. Sarah Colleen Miller, another suspect, had been arrested in February. Another suspect in the crime, Daniel Rodriguez Molina, is still on the run.

According to WTVF, the victim would not speak on camera, but confirmed he is doing okay.
