A church in Oak Ridge has a unique way for kids to collect Easter Eggs

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Robertsville Baptist Church had thousands of Easter Eggs released from a helicopter onto the field of their church on Saturday afternoon.

After a countdown, hundreds of kids raced towards 20,000 candy filled eggs to collect them.

The church limited the number of participants to 1,000 kids to ensure that each child received more than one egg.

This egg drop was special to many families like the Weathers'.

"We're spending our possibly last Easter here in Oak Ridge", said Elizabeth Weathers, mother of one of the participants.
