Anderson deputies find escaped inmate hiding in Clinton home

ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Anderson County Sheriff's Department said it's captured an escaped inmate Friday hiding out in a home in Clinton.

Deputies said 39-year-old Damian Vincent Reynolds was found after an "exhaustive search" in Anderson and Morgan counties. Deputies followed leads to a home in the Dutch Valley community in Clinton, where Reynolds was found hiding in a residence off Johnny Smith Lane at 2:36 p.m. Friday. Officials believe Reynolds was hiding there throughout the entire entire three days he was on the lam.

According to authorities, Reynolds was taken into custody without incident once deputies were able to gain access inside the home. It's unknown at this time if anyone else inside the home will face charges as the investigation into his escape continues.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said it received support from the Morgan and Knox counties' sheriff's offices, as well as from Anderson's aggressive criminal enforcement division.

Reynolds was charged with theft of property along with failure to appear and another misdemeanor charge, but he now faces two additional charges of escape and theft of a vehicle.

Reynolds escaped from custody on Wednesday. According to a representative with the department, Reynolds escaped by mixing in with some inmates that were being released. He had no uniform on as he was just being booked in, and he left with inmates being booked out.
