(WVLT) -- A new study by the anti-defamation league shows more than half of Americans were harassed by hateful speech while online last year. Even worse, 37% of respondents admit to suffering from what they call, severe harassment, which includes sexual harassment, physical threats, even stalking.
Now those numbers have more than double 2017's rate where just 18% of Americans say they felt the same way.
80% of respondents also said the federal government should step in and strengthen laws against online harassment.
