Atlanta minister on the run, convicted of sex crimes against a minor

Police in Atlanta are searching for a minister accused of committing sex crimes against a minor.

Don Martin fled Atlanta five days into a trial for crimes committed against a 13-year-old girl, CBS 46 reported. Police said the fugitive began molesting the girl when she was just seven years old in 2005. The abuse continued until 2011 when the victim told an adult.

In 2011, the case was closed when the victim failed to participate in a forensic interview; however, the case was reopened and the victim completed the necessary interview. Martin was arrested, released on a $15,000 bond and required to wear in ankle monitor.

In 2017, a Fulton County Superior judge permitted the ankle monitor to be removed. CBS 46 reported Martin has not been seen since the fifth day of testimony.
