Authorities: Walland woman brought heroin, meth to public park

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Blount County Sheriff's Office said a 32-year-old Walland woman was arrested after she brought heroin and meth for resale to a public park.

According to the sheriff's office, at around 10 a.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to suspicious activity at Amerine Park in Blount County. When they approached the only vehicle at the park, they spoke with Sarah Lynn Richter, of Walland, who told deputies she was making a list.

The sheriff's office said Richter gave deputies permission to search her vehicle. When they searched it, deputies said they found a box that had 1.8 grams of black tar and powder heroin, 0.1 grams of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia inside.

Richter was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance (heroin) with intent to resell in a drug free zone. She was taken into custody on a $20,000 bond, pending a hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m. on May 23.
