Big South Fork hiring lifeguards for upcoming summer
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area offers an opportunity to have fun and earn a little extra money this coming summer by becoming a lifeguard.
Lifeguards will be paid $11.30 per hour to guard the Bandy Creek pool in the park. Applicants must possess an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification before being allowed to start work. Hours will include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, starting May 28 and running through Sept. 5.
Lifeguard certification courses are currently available through the YMCA of Knoxville, Oak Ridge Recreation and Parks Department, YMCA of Cookeville, and Williamsburg Kentucky Aquatics.
The Bandy Creek pool is in the heart of the Big South Fork and is 75' by 35'. Depth ranges from 3-5 feet, and no diving is permitted. There is also a wading pool.
