‘Walking Dead’ actor to adopt bonded donkey, emu

(WVLT) -- Here's a ditty about Jack and Diane, two animals who found a new home!

Jack and Diane are just two animals growing up at Carolina Waterfowl Rescue in North Carolina. WVLT originally posted a story after the rescue took to Facebook to search for a home for the pair.

According to the rescue, Jack doesn't like other donkeys, and Diane doesn't like other emus. They only like each other.

"We are excited to introduce Jack and Diane," the shelter wrote on Facebook. "A story where two creatures with different looks, backgrounds and even breeds learn to stand together, protect each other and love."

On Nov. 9 the rescue announced that they had received thousands of inquiries about the pair since they posted their picture.

The rescue may have received tons of inquiries, but only one lucky guy gets to take them home, and that lucky man is Jefferey Dean Morgan. Morgan, a veteran actor who has starred in "Supernatural" and "The Walking Dead," will be taking to the pair to his farm in New York.

The founder of the rescue, Jennifer Gordon, says he is adopting them on Dec. 4 and that he was the best choice since he has the resources and place to keep them.
