For the first time in decades, a member of the Duncan family will not represent Tennessee's Second District in the U.S. House of Representatives. GOP candidate Tim Burchett will replace him.
The Associated Press called the race in favor of Burchett who beat out Democrat Rene Hoyos.
Burchett accepted in Knox Co.
Lt. Governor Randy McNally offered his congratulations to Burchett saying, "I have known Tim many years. He has been a loyal friend and a committed public servant...I cannot imagine a better qualified person to serve in Congress at this time."
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs offered his congratulations, too.
Way to go, Congressman-elect @timburchett!— Glenn Jacobs (@GlennJacobsTN) November 7, 2018
