Cal Ripken summer baseball season underway in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The "Cal Ripken Experience" runs from March to November in Pigeon Forge each year; but the summer season is the busiest.

This week, 42 youth baseball teams from 12 different states are in town to play week-long tournaments.

"If they can be a big leaguer for a day or a week when they're here, that's really what we're trying to achieve," said General Manager David Bounds.

"It's a great view while you're playing ... especially at night when you can see the sunset," explained Kaden Harvill, who plays for a team from Florida.
