(CBS/WVLT) - The season finale of the hit CBS drama "God Friended Me" airs Sunday, April 14. In the series' freshman year wrap, Miles and his friends come closer than ever to discovering who’s behind the God account. Will they finally solve this mystery? The cast says a turn in events may take fans by surprise.
“Everything that has been accumulating over the season kind of comes to a head in the finale,” said cast member Violette Beane, who plays Cara Bloom.
“We come very close to discovering who’s behind the God account," added the show's lead Brandon Micheal Hall. "He’s faced now with the problem that started it all. He’s coming of age into himself. He’s finally having to make a choice of this responsibility that he’s going to take in. That’s why you don’t want to miss it because something else happens and it takes a nice, little turn.”
Joe Morton, who plays Reverend Arthur Finer, says the season finale will leave the audience wondering what might happen in the future.
“What it does is, it’ll open everybody up to what’s possible for next year,” says Morton.
“One of the most powerful and important things of our show is that it shows people’s differences, but it doesn’t show it as a conflict," noted Beane. "It shows it as two people who believe and understand a different thing about the world and can have a conversation about it and love each other for those differences.”
Morton made it clear viewers will want to stick around until the very end of the episode.
“You’ll see people making decisions about their lives in very different ways - unexpected ways," he said. "And I think there’s one thing at the very end of the show will knock people out. So, yes. You should watch.”
