Chips Ahoy! cookies recalled due to 'unexpected solidified ingredient'

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Chewy Chips Ahoy Cookies 13 oz. are being recalled because of 'an unexpected ingredient.'

The maker of the cookies released the following statement on Facebook:

"Mondelēz Global LLC announced April 13, 2019, a voluntary recall in the United States, of certain Chewy Chips Ahoy 13 oz. due to the potential for a certain product to contain an unexpected solidified ingredient. For a full list of affected product codes and Best Before Dates, click the link below. Consumers who have these products should not eat them."

According to a press release on the company's website, "some reports of potential adverse health effects have been
received."

The product affected has the UPC: 0 44000 03223 4 and the following best by dates:

08SEP2019

14SEP2019

15SEP2019
