Christian Academy of Knoxville closed on Wednesday due to storm damage

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Christian Academy of Knoxville closed on Wednesday because of damage from strong storms in the early Tuesday morning hours.

Heavy winds knocked out power and did damage to the roof of the school's gymnasium.

School officials said out of safety for the students and staff the school would be closed on Tuesday.

The school's Admissions Open House was also canceled.

Tates School and Emerald Youth Academy also closed. Schools within the Knox County School District were already closed on Tuesday for Election Day.
