City of Crossville receives grant for K-9 Cain memorial park

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On July 10, the City of Crossville announced that they received a Dog Park Dash grant to help build a dog park in their area.

The grant, worth $25,000, will go to creating the K-9 Cain Memorial Dog Park at the Centennial Park. According to the City of Crossville, the grant will be presented on July 17 at 10 a.m. at the park.

K-9 Cain, a service animal, was killed in 2017 after Dustin Lee Dixon stabbed him multiple times following a pursuit.

Dixon was recently sentenced to six years for the killing, along with other charges, on July 5.
