Clinton robbery suspects arrested on drug charges

CLINTON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Clinton Police Department says two suspects were arrested Monday in connection with a Feb. 5 robbery incident.

According to the report, Justin Pennington was working as a clerk at Lee's Travel Center when a masked man pulled out a knife and demanded Pennington hand over all the money from the register or be stabbed.

After an investigation, authorities identified the masked man as Jacob T. Maiden. Surveillance video shows him taking the money from Pennington, and leaving behind two bags of suspected narcotics, then fleeing the scene. Pennington can then be seen placing the suspected drugs in his pocket.

Jacob Maiden was taken into custody on Feb. 6. He faces charges of criminal conspiracy, theft of property and manufacture/delivery/sale/possession of methamphetamine.

Justin Pennington was also taken into custody Feb. 6, and charged with criminal conspiracy, theft of property and possession of schedule II drugs.

Both men are being held at the Anderson County Jail.
