An auction will be held on Friday for some of the personal items once belonging to legendary Lady Vols Coach Pat Summitt.

A classified ad announcing an estate auction of a local prominent woman sports figure outlined some of the items to be sold.

According to the ad, some of the items to be auctioned include autographed basketballs, a custom coach's basketball chair, a UT trophy shovel, posters, books, sports photographs, Pat's 2011 Mercedes GL550 SUV, basketball jerseys, clothing, household items, trophies and more.

The auction requires reservations, and seating is limited.

A preview will be held on Thursday, March 30, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Estate Auctions Limited on E. Broadway Avenue in Maryville.

The auction will be held Friday, March 31, from 12 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Local 8 News spoke with Ryan Robinson, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications at the University of Tennessee. Robinson said he had not heard of the auction. He said a lot of the items that Summitt earned during her career are at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
