SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On Thursday, the Collier Family of Sevier County announced that they planned to invest $50 million dollars in the area over the next ten years.
The announcement, according to the press release, comes as the family celebrates their 50th anniversary in the tourism industry. Over the last four years, they have put $20 million into the the area, more recently with the opening of Country Cascades Waterpark Resort in Pigeon Forge.
As our family marks this historic anniversary, we’re are also renewing our commitment to Pigeon Forge and Sevier County with plans to invest $50 million over the next 10 years across all of our businesses,” said Don Collier. “Our parents, Mindle and Irene Collier had the foresight to believe in this destination half a century ago, and we proudly continue to build on the foundation that they created for us.”
On May 15, the family will have an appreciation luncheon to honor all Sevier County businesses it works with and plans to announce a calendar of events as well.
Some acts include: festivals, celebrity concerts and appearances by The Drifters, Pam Tillis and Bart Millard of MercyMe among others.
