Cat dies in Farragut house fire, juvenile in custody

FARRAGUT, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Rural Metro responded to a house fire in Farragut on Wednesday night at around 9:52 p.m.

Crews went to 11717 Midhurst Drive and found light to moderate smoke coming from the house. All the occupants were outside, and no one was injured, but Rural Metro said the family's cat died in the fire.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office has a juvenile in custody in connection to the fire, Rural Metro said. However, investigators have not said what caused the flames to start.

The fire was contained to a front bedroom in the home.
