S.W.A.T. team called to armed man barricaded inside home

On Thursday evening Cumberland Co. Deputies were called to 923 Russell Ridge Road for a domestic violence call.

When deputies arrived just before 6 p.m. they discovered James Reagan,76, had barricaded himself in the residence and was armed.

Police set up a perimeter around the area with multiple law enforcement units. The joint S.W.A.T. Team of the Crossville Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was activated and called to the location.

Family members told police It was also that there were multiple weapons inside the residence that were loaded and positioned throughout the home. Family members also told deputies Reagan suffers from Alzheimer's and at times becomes violent.

Negotiators started talking with Reagan and after two hours of negotiations were able to convince him into surrendering.

Reagan was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland Medical Center for a mental evaluation. Police say that charges are pending.
