Daring the Dragon: car enthusiasts take on a dangerous East Tennessee road
From Lamborghinis to Audis, all kinds of drivers enjoy the drive on the Dragon. The Recharge Rally brings together car enthusiasts from all over to take a trip through multiple states.
"Recharge Rally is basically a group of car enthusiasts that get together and we go throughout the states," organizers said. "We're going through the tail end of the Dragon to get some nice, twisty curves in to really test our cars out and just have fun."
The group always starts out their fun with what's important: safety.
"We don't want anybody to push their cars too hard especially if it does end up raining," they added.
On the Dragon, "a lot of times on the tail you'll go left and you'll immediately go right and if you're going too fast or if you're not familiar with your car or not comfortable in your car more likely you're going to either oversteer or understeer your car," he said.
But there's one person who isn't afraid of what the Dragon has to offer. "This is actually my first one," said Jennifer Grierson. "I know my car really well, so I'm used to driving it, and so it's just a lot of fun to put it through its paces."
