"Sparkle," Detroit drug dealer, sentenced in Knoxville
Sparkle Trenetta Jones, 36, was convicted of Sale and Delivery of Heroin in a School Zone.
Jones was setting up deals in the area of Inskip Elementary when she was caught in June 2017.
KPD got a tip about heroin being dealt around Inskip Market next to the school, and had an informant arrange a sale over the phone with her.
The investigator on the case said he recognized Jones' voice from reviewing jail calls between her and her husband. Jones' husband is Marquail Patterson, a Detroit drug dealer currently serving 30 years in prison for a 2014 murder at a night club on Cumberland Avenue.
Jones awaits sentencing on Nov. 9 and faces between 15 and 25 years in prison.
