Dry for several days, but more rain is coming

If we look back and reflect on the year 2019, we now have 55 days on the books. And out of those 55 days, a startling statistic is revealed.

Knoxville has had a TRACE or more of rain 38 out of 55 days. That is 69% of the year.

Measurable rain days are just as profound at 30 days out of 55 days or 54.5% of the year.

Dry days have been hard to come by so far in Knoxville in 2019, accounting for only 29% of the year.

We also had one snow day on January 29th with 1.8 inches of snow.

So far, McGhee Tyson Airport has received 12.83 inches of rain this month. This makes February 2019 the Wettest February on record in Knoxville, since records have been kept in 1871.

Expect some spotty rain to return on Wednesday, more showers Thursday and some thunderstorms possible on Friday.
