East Tennesseans honored at Provision CARES awards dinner

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- East Tennesseans were honored at Provision CARES Foundation's annual East Tennessee Cancer Impact Awards Dinner at Hotel Knoxville Thursday evening.

At the dinner, local individuals and businesses were acknowledged for their service and support provided to cancer patients and their families in the categories of patient advocate, volunteer, medical professional, community outreach and the CARES cancer challenge winner.

Provision serves cancer patients through education, wellness and research. Their signature program, Caring Plate which debuted in 2014, provides nutritious meals to cancer patients and their families.

The honorees of this year's event were:

Medical Professional - David Ange, MD
Community outreach - Clayton Homes
