KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - It's the season of the Easter Bunny, but that doesn't mean it's time to get your own rabbit, unless of course you're ready for a big commitment. That's what the folks at Young-Williams Animal Center say, especially this time of year.
As with any pet, it's important to do your research before making the decision to adopt.
"Just because it's Easter, we don't want people to think it's cool or it should be trendy to get a rabbit or things like that. We really think people should plan ahead and think through and want to keep that pet for its lifetime," Courtney Kliman, with Young-Williams, said.
Animal experts said it's not unusual to get rabbits dropped off at a shelter after Easter.
