KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Police in Williamsburg, Kentucky say an escaped inmate was arrested in Knoxville.
Knoxville Police Department officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at a Pilot at 5216 North Middlebrook Pike shortly after midnight Tuesday.
KPD said the suspect, Emily Baldwin, told officers she was left by a prisoner transport van near the Kentucky state line and hitchhiked to Knoxville. Both warrants involve drug offenses.
Police say on Monday, she was being transferred from Georgia to Missouri. She was last seen at the I-75 visitor's center just North of Jellico.
Just after midnight, the Williamsburg Police Department announced she was arrested by Knoxville Police.
