The Knoxville District Attorney's office released video showing a man attempting to rob a Dollar General using a flashlight wrapped in electrical tape to look like a handgun.

According to the District Attorney's Office, Randy Woody, 51, was convicted of attempted aggravated robbery and assault in relation to the incident.

The report from the DA said Woody approached a Dollar General clerk on January 26, 2018, armed with what appeared to be a handgun. The cashier and a manager quickly realized the gun was fake and forced Woody out of the store before he could take anything.

Woody has previously been charged with aggravated robbery and second-degree murder.

Woody faces up to 10 years behind bars after the latest conviction.
