75-year-old man fatally shot in Sevier County

According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, a Sevier County man is dead after an afternoon shooting on Monday.

Seals stated that 911 dispatch received a call at 3:05 p.m. Monday from a location on Bob Hollow Road just outside Sevierville city limits on Chapman Highway stating a person had been shot.

Officers from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the Sevierville Police Dept. arrived at a residence located at 317 Bob Hollow Road.

Billy J. Huskey, age 75, who resided at the home was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside the residence. Huskey was transported to U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, where he later died.

The shooting is under investigation and a person of interest has been taken into custody on unrelated charges. The investigation is still ongoing by the sheriff’s office.
