Father's Day holds special meaning for Tennessee dragster

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- You can almost hear the engines roaring now! The annual Thunder Valley Nationals are set for this weekend at the Bristol Dragway and just in time for Fathers Day.

Among those hoping to compete for a championship this Sunday is Top Fuel dragster Clay Millican. He won the event back in 2017, a race and championship which will forever hold special meaning for him, " Every father should grab a kid and come out it certainly was a big deal to me winning this event in 2017 it was huge for me, I lost a son and to win on that day it makes it the most the most memorable win I'll ever have my entire life to win on father's day."

An early happy fathers day to Clay, who hails from Drummonds, Tennessee. You can see him and all the other racers beginning Friday as qualifying heats get underway up Bristol with the finals, again, set for Sunday.
