Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)— Someone who is certainly familiar with the Lady Vols way is former Tennessee standout Cierra Burdick. These days, the former Lady Vol is playing professional ball over seas, but for the past couple years, the Charlotte, NC native has been busy helping progress the sport she loves through her 1Dream Hoops camp. About the idea for 1Deeam Cierra says,”I found that there was a lack of player development and I really wanted to find a way that I could give back to the Charlotte community and just take what I've learned and and all the people that have helped me get to where I'm at today and really just help others and give back and that's what one dream is for me."
Cierra says One Dream is a hoops family committed to chasing dreams on and off the court. A means to empower and inspire young women to reach their fullest potential. That philosophy is something she says she learned first hand on the UT Campus from the legend herself, Pat Summitt, “ I think the biggest think I took from coach Summitt is to be the best that you can be at your craft but to be an even better person what she was able to do off the court and her lasting impact with her players, coaches and the Knoxville community and the women's game in general is better than any championship that she got."
Pat would be proud of her former pupil who’s currently playing pro ball in Poland. Cierra’s 3rd annual camp will take place this Simmer. For more information you can check out their site on Twitter @1Dream.
