According to

, the Franklin County School board passed a measure that targets a gay straight alliance (GSA) at Franklin County High School.

After the vote, parents are now required to give written permission before their child can participate in any school clubs.

The GSA was approved in December. The co-founder of the club, Joshua Dailey, says he's experienced bullying and taunting since he moved to Franklin County from New York. He told WTVF at one point, students threw holy water on him and yelled expletives.

Dailey said about 35 to 50 students show up to regular meetings and he doesn't expect the school board's measure to impact the club directly just yet. That's because he said most of the students are supported by families who would give written permission.
