OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) On Saturday, nearly 450 Aspen Dental practices opened their doors to provide free dental care for thousands of veterans across the nation.
This was Aspen Dental's fourth annual, and is the largest single-day oral health initiative targeted at veterans. It's part of Aspen Dental's Healthy Mouth Movement, a community-giving initiative to deliver free dental care to veterans.
"We're giving all veterans free dental care, urgent care, fillings, extractions, just trying to give back to the community that's been giving their service to us and show our appreciation to them," said Dentist Anita Brown.
The office in Oak Ridge served 25 Veterans and did $10,000-$50,0000 worth of dental work for free for veterans.
"You can't put a price on someone's smile and quality of life," said Dr. Brown. "We're extremely honored and excited to provide these services for veterans."
Local veterans can call 1-844-AspenHMM to schedule an appointment at a participating office in the Knoxville area. Appointments are required and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
