Gang of 3,000 chickens kill fox

A juvenile fox was looking for a meal when it all went wrong.

According to WTKR, a fox entered a chicken coop at an agricultural school in north France, and the coop's automatic door latched, locking the fox inside.

It trapped the fox inside with a gang of about 3,000 hens, according to the BBC.

The birds attacked the fox and pecked it to death.

“There was a herd instinct,” says the school’s farming director. “It had blows to its neck, blows from beaks.”

WTKR reported that the fox's body was discovered in the corner of the coop the next day. Its stomach had been repeatedly pecked.
