Suspect identified in Greeneville shooting, considered armed and dangerous

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Greenville Police Department says a warrant has been issued for a man after an extensive investigation into a Thursday night shooting.

GPD is looking for Kevin Yarnell Mackey, 36, for aggravated assault and being a felon in possession of a handgun.

According to police, Mackey's whereabouts are unknown. Officials are asking anyone with information about the suspect's location to contact the Greenville Police Department.

Mackey is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by citizens. according to reports.

The Greeneville Police Department said a man was hospitalized as a result of the shooting.

The call for the shooting came in around 11:45 pm.

Officials said it happened on Tusculum Boulevard near Pelican's Snowballs.

Deputies released limited details, but we're told a victim is a man.

Investigators said the man was found with gunshot wounds and taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
