HIGHLIGHTS: Farragut edges Bearden after late game-tying homer

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Bearden baseball took an early lead on Farragut Monday night, scoring two first-inning runs.

The score remained 2-0 until the sixth inning, when Ashton King blasted a 2-run homer to left field to tie the game.

Just a few pitches later, Bryce Burkey's bunt, and a fielding error allowed the Admirals to take a 4-2 lead.

In the final inning with two outs on the board, Bearden cut its deficit to one on a drive to right field by John Beam, but the comeback effort fell just a couple feet short.

With a runner on third base, Bearden's Harrison Moseley made contact with the pitch, bouncing it up toward third base. The throw to first base would beat him by a split-second, and Farragut won the game 4-3.
