Handgun, Bible stolen from car in Virginia neighborhood

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond police continue to push the ‘Lock it or Lose it’ campaign following a Sunday car burglary.

Police say a handgun and Bible were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the Northern Barton Heights neighborhood on Sunday.

Hours later, officers responded to gunfire in Gilpin Court. The same gun that was stolen was used in the shooting.

No injuries were reported in the shooting.

The Bible is still missing.

Police urge drivers to remove valuables from vehicles, and lock car doors.
