Helicopter makes 'precautionary landing' in Corryton
A medical helicopter made a precautionary landing in Corryton on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on July 23.
The helicopter was an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter flying from Harlan, Kentucky, according to a media representative with Air Evac.
The media representative said a light went off in the helicopter's cockpit, and the pilot made a precautionary landing.
There was a patient on board, and the media representative said UT Lifestar was on the way to pick the patient up.
The pilot did "exactly" as the pilot was trained to do, the media representative said. If a light goes off in the cockpit, the representative said pilots are trained to find the safest place to land.
