KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Hobby Lobby announced plans to open a new location adjacent to Trader Joes on Kingston Pike.

The craft store will use the space of an old Toys R Us that closed in 2018. It was the only Toys R Us location in Knoxville.

Hobby Lobby already has one location in Turkey Creek and a Knox County location on Clinton Highway next to Home Depot.

“Onc you visit Hobby Lobby, you will see that we are very unique, offering the widest variety of merchandise in the craft and home decor market under one roof,” stated Kelly Black, Director of Advertising. “We’re tremendously excited about becoming a part of the Knoxville community.”

The store said they expect the new location to be open for business in mid-September 2019. They plan to hire 35-50 people.
