Ice Bears win playoff opener

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- The Knoxville Ice Bears got the post-season off to a great start with
a 3-1 win over the Macon Mayhem Friday night at the Civic Coliseum.

Knoxville hosting game one at the Civic Coliseum and creating a lot
of mayhem for Macon early. Some hard hitting and plenty of offense, but the home team just couldn't get the puck thru the pipes, that is until late in the first period.

Knoxville already on the power play when Bryce Nielson breaks free and tripped up, that's another penalty and Macon is down two men.

Ice bears would take advantage with about two minutes to go in the first when Stefan Brucato take the pass and one times it in for the game's first score. Game-2 is Saturday night in Macon. A game three if necessary is back here in Knoxville on Sunday.
