A Jefferson County man was indicted on a forgery charge after an investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Special agents with the TBI started investigating Timothy Mack Lindsey on May 24 on allegations that he forged a signature on a court document.
The TBI reported that Lindsey went to the Jefferson County Circuit Court Clerk's Office to file an affidavit. An employee of the clerk's office told Lindsey she would file the document, but refused to sign or certify it.
Agents learned that Lindsey also allegedly filed a copy of the affidavit with the Jefferson County Register of Deeds Office on May 24.
The Jefferson County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Lindsey with one count of forgery last week. He was arrested an booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Monday. A bond amount has not been set at this time.
