NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Police in Tennessee have charged a 15-year-old with reckless homicide in the shooting death of another teenager.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department says in a news release officers found 16-year-old Mina Fawzy dead inside his home Friday from a wound to his neck area in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville.
The statement says interviews with the suspect and a witness revealed they were playing with the gun, which had been stolen from a car in the area. The suspect told officers he believed the gun was unloaded when he pulled the slide back and released it. Fawzy was struck when the gun fired.
The suspect's name was withheld because he's a juvenile.
