KCSO: Man arrested for killing, dismembering parents extradited
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says the man arrested for allegedly killing and dismembering his parents in their West Knox County home in November is being extradited from Baton Rouge to Knox County on Friday.
KCSO detectives traveled to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Joel Guy, Jr.’s extradition hearing on Thursday.
Joel Guy, Jr. is being transported to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility by the KCSO Major Crimes detectives and KCSO Criminal Warrants officers Friday.
Guy, Jr. is charged with first degree murder for allegedly killing his parents, 61-year-old Joel Michael Guy, Sr. and 55-year-old Lisa Guy at their home on Goldenview Lane.
Investigators believe the couple was murdered between November 25, 2016, and November 26, 2016. They both suffered stab wounds, and their remains were found in multiple rooms in the house.
Guy, Jr. was arrested on November 29, 2016, at his apartment complex in Baton Rouge.
He is charged with two counts of first degree murder and will be held on a combined bond of $2,000,000.
